Does anybody have any first hand experience with these guys? They are currently doing a sales blitz in my area, but I am wondering if this is all a scam or are they a legitimate company?

Worked for them for 4 out of the last 6 years, what do you want to know?
Ill add to that, yes they are legit. Install about 80 to 100k alarms a summer. Most of the employes are college students. We work 6 days a week all summer. If someone is lookin into getting an alarm you won't find a better deal. Basically they figure they make enough money off of the monitoring agreement that they give the install/alarm panel/set amount equipment for free. Like any sales co it has a few shady POS salesman but as a whole the sales guys are honest. They were ADT's #1 dealer for a couple of years then broke off and started selling themselves. Local ADT group is Pinnacle....Pretty good peeps. Installer guy just comes by once and awhile to check on things....System works very well, I think.! Stay AWAY from APEX security!!!!!

Any time, Glad to help. Ill 2nd the apex ( which has changed their name to APX now) Some of the worst installs that I have seen in 6 years or working have been APX alarms. Platinum Sec is not far behind either ( Plat is a break off from APX). We are knocking doors in pretty much any decent sized market in the US and Canada during the summer if anyone wants info on this Stuff feel free to PM me. I install them so am only working 3 or 4 hours a day which = tons of time for snowest, Snow and Mud, and Halo haha
