Its sunday here, and we are just getting ready to head home..
I was really dissapointed with the entire setup, the cars picked for the final 32..
We arrived there at bandimere speedway at 4:30 on thursday afternoon by 11 that night we had finally got parked.. Friday morning they start around an hour late (not a good idea with over 475 cars there) on a test and tune day.. Our car didnt pass tech inspection (out of date tfi inspected harmonic balancer).. After tracking one down and getting it installed we finally made a pass.. around 10.7 lost around 6/10ths at elevation..
after making a lot of changes they took around a 3 hr break so the camera's could be adjusted.. After starting the second test and tune runs they had ran about 100 cars through and then called it because of rain.. Which I understand hey rain happens.. However there is over 100 cars (most of which are home to bandimere) that have one more pass on there setups than the rest of us..
Well sat. we get there.. start on time.. make a pass on our mystery setup.. and runs like 11.9.. WTF... so we go back to the pits change everything back plus a little extra.. the next pass was amazing.. dont know cause they turn the scoreboard off for t.v. and werent giving time slips.. it should have been around 10.3.. right were we wanted the car..
After watching hours and hours upon racing.. There was a lot of fast cars.. and a lot of really cool looking cars around.. they had an amazing high 9 class.. and low 10 class.. a high 10 class.. even a low 11 class which they could have picked 32 cars from very easily..
what did the pick???
12.5-12.8 class.. WTF.. who wants to watch at 12 sec pass at 90-100 when we could run a sweet 9 sec. class.. I mean I understand that they have to pick something for t.v. but a 12 sec car doesnt launch or have top end.. or get crazy half track..
I was dissapointed with Pinks.. they had a lot of pissed off'd racers for sure.. I really cant wait to watch the show and figure out why they picked that class for sure..
All in All.. we had fun... got drunk.. didnt wreck the car.. so it was a decent weekend..
P.s. That rich guy (bald one from the show)... What a D-bag.. he is like 5'4" and rolls his shoulders to walk when the cameras are on him.. like stretched his arms for the arm drops like every 45 secs. and even played a little favorites for some local sponsors that were racing..
