Pictures of Reecer Creek

Hmmm....I feel so conflicted. On the one hand, I don't like seeing burnt trees, forest, etc.. But on the other hand, burns make for better riding.

Have the main Reecer Creek road and surrounding areas been re-opened? The latest map I can find on the forest service website still show's it as a closed area...

The 3507 just below the gravel pit had a closed sign on it. We did see a closed sign at the Wilson intersection but it was off the road and the closed sign was facing north.

Any word on a timber sale?

Sure hope the greenies don't drag this through the courts . . like Oregon and a whole lotta other places.

Riding through scorched forests is eerie. I'm thinking Okanagon - Freezeout pass area - just eerie.

Its still closed but the barrier is being moved in to the ditch, rumor on the hill is that some tickets have been doled out. the FS has the bucks and some gates are going in but dont know where. I was gonna go clean up my hastly evacuated elk camp but my bud at the bottom of the hill did not think it was worth a ticket. I will do it by sled i hope.

Reecer

Holly smokes those pictures are awful. Looks like the sidehil team will be doing some winter clean up of the elk camps. May need to come up with some more towable sleds to haul gear out. Don't we still need to fix the one you have?

Geezer,
I have two towable sleds, a strong back and a real bad memory for locations (:face-icon-small-win) if you want/need some help, just holler and I'd be happy to go in and help.

Bag

We went in and checked out the camps after a failed attempt to ride from Thorp to W Jacks and back, funnny thing is we should have been on sleds and not on moto bikes. There is close to a foot on top and you could do road ride if your itching to get out. The only thing left of the famous a frame outhouse is the hinge to the toilet seat and the tp coffee can. It burned hot in places.
