Well, I'm having a great time here at the 2011 Jackson Hole World Championship Hill-Climbs.

For the first time there was a single ski class at this event.

Allen Mangum, owner of Timbersled Products, fired up his 2011 KX-450 thumper on top of his Mtn. Horse Snowbike for a stab at the hill here at Snowking.

After some creative line choices he crested the top of the hill to the cheers of the crowds below.... the first ever snowbike to top the hill here at Jackson Hole. Not bad for a bike making 40 hp at this altitude... on a 121" track. (no nitrous)

Here are some pics of a happy Mr. Mangum. :loco:

Thats actually pretty cool.
How often it is that a true "FIRST" happens anymore.

If someone can dig up a video, please get it posted.

Would love to see the Mountainhorse climbing to the top.

yup, gotta be vid out there somewhere... I know there were a COUPLE people there at jackson... :D one of them has got to have a clip for us!

Way cool.

youtube has several but the only one worth watching is the goof that takes out the Klim sign on the snowbike. Also can't believe it takes so long to get some results posted.

YAY ALLEN!!!!! nice work, can't wait to see more pics and hear stories when ya get back!!! I know my GF lisa is WAAAAAYYYYY amped up for our demo ride on one of those bad boys!

I was there as well he stayed with the gates about up to the first catwalk, after that it was a rodeo but he made it out the top just fine. i would say it was about the best crowd pleaser all weekend.Snowhawks tried as well but did not get very far.

Allen if you were just a bit more aggressive on Sunday we would have the footage we require! BooooooooOOOOOOOOOooooooooooOOOOOOO boring fun hating race director. (Allen was all loaded for BEAR to POACH us some action) We'd of had true get the feel like you are actually their doing it P.O.V! SnoDev's and or whom ever contracted the filming this year missed an epic op. Kind of like our deal at the free style...we got the goods and it's GOOooooooOD!

Actually I feel their pain...long long days of work and just wanting to get it done! BUT the fans on Sunday were sold short. That run was the most exciting few minutes of Jackson in my 12 years of participation. Crowd howled louder at this deal then any crash or racer trying for the win. It was actually very very cool to witness!

I'm almost ranking this as high as the girl swimming topless in the puddle a few years ago...well ok no I'm not!

NIce!!

I remember when those kind of kits first came out and were not very functional but I am sold now. That was crazy! Do they still have the class where you can do any mods you want? I have a video somewhere showing a guy that welded two snowmobiles together for a shot to the top but didn't make it far. Good job on that KX.
