Pics of Skinz Protective Gear Airframe hood

I've had a few mails recently asking for some pics. Here is what I have. Mine was powder coated red, but they normally just come in standard aluminum. They are UPS shippable so it saves some $$ that way. The removable panels work well for drying out gloves and goggles. A pretty sweet feature that they designed by accident. I went with the PIAA lights not included. I wired them directly into the stock switch as ON/OFF rather than HIGH/LOW. They are stock wattage. I did this to maintain standard current draw just in case. I have been running them completely off without issue. You could wire them as 1 off for low and both on for high. I can light up the whole forest with those. :D The hood also comes with an air box cone with prefilter material. I can't explain it, but when I switched the hood I got better MPG? I can only assume it allowed something in the fuel injection to read more consistently. It sure is nice for keeping the electrical components cool.

roll on

I have been eyeing one of these for my 700. How does it hold up in a roll? Or, how strong is the aluminum frame. I often roll out of a stuck and I also roll the occasional turnout. What think you?

Depends how soft the snow is.  JK :D They are pretty durable by design. I've only rolled it over once in the snow with no issues. That was just a get unstuck situation like you are describing. A roll down a hill will be a different story as is the case with any hood. The hood is designed in sections so if it were to get bent or damaged it can be easily replaced.
