So after some monster storms swept through the Sierra we headed out into 10 feet of fresh to check it out.

This is the roof peaking out of the bathroom at Cold Spring Summit off Beasore Road at around 7'000 feet.

This young lad got his sled stuck but big props for hanging with the big boys out there! He did fine with a 144 track and of course his lighter weight.

The huge boulders in the lake make perfect jumps with flat landings into soft snow.

I trenched AGAIN:rolleyes: We probably spent about equal time riding and digging ourselves out all day. But it was sooo worth it.

Jay got going about 40mph and hit this snow covered boulder for a huge launch.

Looking forward to the snow setting up a little more and hitting it again soon!:D

Thanks for the picts. some guys have all the luck of being in the correct place at the correct time !!

Afraid so poorider. This is off the website from the near by Sierra Summit ski area.

"Thanks to all the skiers and riders who made their way up to Sierra Summit this past weekend. Though the 11 feet of snow this past week created some of the best skiing and riding conditions it came with many challenges."

Awesome!

Please give us some of our snow back! Washington is suffering from this El-Nino... and you don't need much more than 10' We need a snow re-distribution program:D

right on

Hey thanks for taking pics yesterday, the ones i took of you didnt turn out so bad either:D. the last pic of me sure dont look that big in the pic . seeya, next ride this weekend:beer;

10 feet of fresh my @ss you wouldn't be riding with 10 feet of new snow with any sled, we all know that it is tough to ride in around 4' of new stuff let alone 10', lets be realisitic here.

your snow back east colder and dryer or north of us also. we have weter snow thats not bottom less. why dont you:o check the snotel if you dont think so:p.

Dude check the weather for the area. most areas in Northern cali got 8-10+ft of snow in just a few days. As far as riding in it their snow is wet and heavy much like wet concrete or mashed potatos...very similair snow to alaska which is were i'm from. The snow out west like MT, UT, WY and CO is much lighter due to lack of moisture which makes for bottomless snow vs wet heavy set up snow.

Sierra cement = 10ft of snow that you can go ride. 10ft of snow in CO, AK or ID and other places = stay inside and do something else.

Looks like you all had a blast!

GOT BETTER BOARDS?

It's finally getting deep and very very ridable in all of our PRIME spots in the NW! SNOWMOBILING IS FUN AGAIN!

FYI yea 10ft dropped over the course of that CA storm. Here in Idaho we had 36" in a drop on Wed-Fri storm. Sat was a challenge to go up any minor grade...the very next day Sunday it looked like this. Sets up fast!

Thanks guys!:)

Here's one more. Jay you may not have been launching super high but you were easily clearing 30 feet of distance.

If the suns out this weekend we should be able to get some wicked shots.

Looks like winter has finally arrived!

We rode Sat and Sun. Saturday we weren't expecting much but rode into a blizzard and three feet of fresh dry, get stuck all day snow. Sunday we had to park and ride the road for three miles because of the new fresh. There was at least another 3-4 feet of fresh, our tracks were gone...it was bottomless...it was awesome.

I can see it snowing hard on our riding spot again right now. It is supposed to snow for a couple more days, and that surely means a few more feet.

Glad to hear it is finally getting deep in a few places. SW Colorado is definately ready for riding now.
