Ok So I have an old pickup bed box that i'm thinking of cutting up and putting on my two place trailer for the carbide glides. Has anyone every done this before how do they work compaired to the ones you buy?

Bed liner carbide guides

I have done this on my trailers and now my sled deck. In fact I took of the super glides that were on the ramp for my deck because the bedliner works so much better. It has deeper ribs to the carbides don't ever touch. Keeps the skis much straighter. I also put them down on the deck of the trailer and sled deck to keep from tearing up the wood. Works awesome. In my opinion, the super glide material is way over priced and doesn't work near as well as the cut up bed liner. I used some sheet metal snips and a skill saw to cut up mine.

i put that stuff down on my flatbed/sledbed.... it ROCKS!!! my simmons gen 1 skis normally THRASH wood decks, well, they dont even scrape this stuff. and it slides really well, makes loading way eaisier as the sled doesnt jam and get stuck.

if you have ever seen these things next to superglides they are almost IDENTICAL, except you can get this stuff for way cheap, i grabbed a used longbox one at a spray on bedliner place for $20 with 2 tailgate sections that i used for the tracks to sit in, works awsome!!!

Hey, thanks everyone... I'm going to do this, this weekend, I was driving this summer and I saw one in the ditch with the sides all cracked up so this idea came through my head for this so a jacked it..so this is not going to cost me a thing. Was going to try this sooner but just have not had much time and with cows calving this weekend I have to stay home so I figured good time to do this.

The line-x and rhino places will usually have ones to give away just for the asking. I think it looks crappier than the store bought glides but they do work extremely well.

I was curious too about how well they work. I have the bottom of an old bedliner laying out back right now and was concerned about how well the carbides would slide or if they would still dig in. Glad to hear it works well.

Yup, I got 4 of them for free and they'd already cut the sides off so that made it easy to haul. Cut them with the circular saw and screwed them to the trailer floor and ramps, worked awesome!
