Is it possible to remove the stock throttle block without removing the handle bar grip and heating element?

Yes, the stock throttle block separates. It does not slide on/off the bars. Take the large alen set screw out of the bottom, four screws on the end, remove the flipper pin, pull throttle cable out of the holder and leave the flipper attached to the cable. The bottom piece of the stock throttle slides out of the upper portion.

Ok thanks. Have been away from Polaris for four years, (last one was a -09 Assault), but have a -15 RMK 800 on the way. One thing I remember not liking was the sloppy feel of the throttle flipper when the pin moves between the emergency breakers.
I will be doing something about that.
Does the ECU become "irritated" if I remove these emergency breakers? Think I saw something written about that somewhere.
