Picked up a Leftover 09 700 155

Holy sh*t - I love it. E-start is icing on the cake.

Three things I'd appreciate some input on:

1. Coasting downhill produces significant rumble, presumably on the track/drivers - is this normal?

2. I was hearing an occasional "scratching" sound (sounds like skis are hitting a rock for a split second) that is throttle related, like some spot in the RPM range would make the scratch sound for a millisecond, then gone, but I could recreate it by going through the rpm range again.

3. Can I scavenge the spare belt off my 07 600 155 for this seld?

I'm shooting for a stock sled except for ice scratchers unless you guys tell me there is something I have to do. TIA.

Your 09 has a third (center) driver that is probably making contact with the track as you coast down hill. Your 07 will only have the two outside involute drivers.

You will love the CFI 700, it is one of Polaris' best engines...too bad they dropped it from the lineup.

Yes the belt will work,it should be the same #3211115.If it's a #3211080 that belt will also work you'll just have to adjust the clutch width on the primary.

I put 19/42 gearing on mine and it makes it even snappier. If you do this, buy the Team gear for a lot less money than the Polaris one.

Thanks guys, sounds like I'm all set. Spare belt is 1080, so I'll keep that on hand. Interested in comments on item #2, else I'll ride her some more to see if that continues.

I would guess that #2 is caused by vibration. Could be that your exhaust hasn't seated yet around the flanges by the Y pipe and by the can causing a tinny sound.

Great sled i have and 08. The 700 is the most proven polaris motor imo. The belt from your 600 should work just fine. I have the same noise as well and it is just the clucth from what numerous dealers have told me. Again great sled in stock form. Have fun!
