So my nine day break is coming up in feb. Thought i would ask the locals where they have had good times. More of a staycation than a vacation but you know...economy:face-icon-small-sad Im looking for some good lodging options close to backcountry powder access. I've done the Baker, I90's and fish lake weekend trips. Want something new never been there type stuff, maybe a little night life too?? What'cha got all story's welcomed!!

Oh Canada. Revelstoke isnt that far and pretty much has it all. Whistler is a blast but to have a great time up on the glaciers its better if you hit it when its not storming.

:face-icon-small-sad Thats it huh? Com-on guys...maybe just suggest somewhere you may have wanted to go. Idaho or Montana is a possibility too...

Haven't been there, I'm going to try for it later this year, I'll give a report, but the more I read about Halfway, Oregon sounds and looks good.:gossip:

priest lake......

just for fun when you are there.......

count how many of the women you see are missing teeth.

try it...just make sure you don't use your fingers and toes.... you do not have enough.

head to island park, mccall, halfway, most of montana or anywhere in canada. priest lake is WAAAAY overrated

im thinking somewhere with teeth:amen:

The list is pretty limited if you get board riding the same area day after day. I'd be looking for a area that offers multiple riding areas in close proximity... In a word

REVELSTOKE!!

Lol, i already considered a tropical vacation. I ruled out mexico already cuz i dont want to come home in a box:lol: Colorado has been suggested...ive never been. Any body here know where the Co. gooods are?

One year, I had the week off and spent a few days with friend in the hills west of Omak and rode from their door, even to Conconully.

Then a few days in Chelan, different snow park each day.

Ended with 2 nights in Leavenworth, different sno-park each day.

No good night life mid-week in these areas. Would have had better riding for sure in McCall or Revy, just some ideas for something close....

Go where the snow is.

Idaho: McCall Idaho has some good riding..very versital terrain. The Cascade Lake area has some good areas as well and you can hit that while staying in McCall. http://snowmobilemccall.net/ Hands down a funner time than Priest Lake as far as riding goes. Priest Lake is OK but a lot of thick trees and you really need someone to show you where to go or you may end up riding trails and having a hard time finding the good stuff. McCall is easy to find great areas.

Stanley Idaho has some good riding as well.

Montana:...You want it first rate..well you have to go to Cooke City, MT..you ride right out from whever you stay at..ride to the bar..ride to breakfast etc.

Lolo Pass, MT has every thing you need as far as riding..not as easy to park/ride like Cooke. http://www.cookecityexxon.com/ Check Snow conditions. http://wintermt.com/snomoareas/lolo.htm

If you want to keep it closer then Revelstoke is a great place. Keep in mind that the weather can be iffy in Revy...on a three day trip plan on at least one of them beeing all socked in. If you want to go that far I would check out the Golden areas.

I am originally from CO and have sledded all over the country somewhat. I think..and this is just my opinion is that Cooke City would be my Fav..now my wife would say McCall..and my next door Neighbor would say Lolo Pass.

If you are interested in MT get ahold of Scott on the MT forum area.
