Got about 30 miles in. Conditions varied a lot. Rode toward Soapstone and it was scratchy at places on the road. Just to the SE of the pass along the hillside we found it as deep as a couple feet in the shady north slopes in the trees. Must of snowed about 6 or 7 inches while we were there from 11am to 3pm so the conditions got better and better. Got off trail in some of the meadows where I know there are not any rocks and it was OK for carving. Not saying you don't have to be careful out there... Pretty thin in places where the wind blew, or the sun melted the early snows we've had. Anyway, good enough to start breaking in the new sled :-)
