Phazer Grip Heat

Replaced the stock handle bars on the 08 Phazer with Apex bars. The grip heat plugs matched up & no code 81...........No Heat..........WTF

you need a wire loom its a recall item that yamaha never installed it does something to the effect of reversing the polarity for the new style heating elements on all 08 machines.

Thanks man - I asked my dealer & Yup - "Service Bulletin". They were too busy, so I got the wiring harness and 10 minutes to install, we had grip heat.

I hear that! All the years we rode with no hot grips...wonder how we got by. Dealer called and said our 08 grips are working, three days earlier than the estimate...gotta like that. Dino

Kinda all started when I went to install the PowerMadd hand gaurds. I cut thru the tin foil heating element while trimming the rubber gaurd. Had the code 81 show up and knew I had an oopp's. The heating element was $ 120. The Apex bars complete with grips and heat were $ 140.
Gotta say, I am kinda glad it happen, in that I gained about 1.5 inch height on the bars, which is always good.
