Welcome to snowest man. As per any sled, jetting/clutching/gearing/suspension setup are where you start out. As for your specific sled try the Yamaha section. A set of triple pipes will really wake your sled up.

there is a thread in the yamaha section that has a ton of good info. do a search for mountain max in that forum and you will get gobbs of info.

what have you done to it so far? the hood is too heavy, pipes are a must. the swaybar should have never been invented, the airbox mod, head, track, transfer rods......the list goes on. they can flat rip when tuned right.

Welcome to the forum! As the others have said, the yamaha section has lots of good info.

Had triple pipes, lightweight hood, powder pro skis, and some other stuff on my mountain max. My dad has it now, that thing runs pretty well and can't beat the growl of a triple.

I've had a couple buddies that ran the 2000 MM 700's and I can say without reservation that the best mods I've seen are Bender triple pipes and a 156" X 2" Camo Challenger track. There's lot's more info available here :

spring snow hero, and the others gotcha started in the right direction. remove the stock hood and get a Br tech thrasher hood-shave 20+ lbs. remove sway bar and links- shave 6 lbs. and improve handling in mountains. triple pipes are a must, but like alot of us the wallet talks. sell your stock stuff on here or ebay, to pay for your upgrades.

A Bender BB 8- kit:), had a buddy who had one on almost your exact sled, that sled flat out RAN!!!! But yes, bigger track for the weight, the chassis was on the heavy side from the factory, but I know guys who STILL ride them, they just work.
