Performance Packages....so many choices!!

There seems to be a wide variety of performance packages available for the 800 Pro but is there one that stands out from the rest?
I hear people praising Power Addictions package, SLP Stage 3 or 4, RK Tek's drop ins, haven't heard much about Bikeman's kit.
I'm leaning towards the RKT kit but would like to be able to run a different exhaust and have heard lots of good things about PA package even though with the pipe is twice the price of RKT's kit.
I'm sure they all run better than stock but if I'm going to spend $800+ I want what works the best.
Anyone compare any of these kits?

get yourself pa head to your elevation and his can. get carls cycle clutch kit and you'll be happy with the set up. thats what i did to my sled and couldn't be any happier. i spend 1200 bucks on the head, can and clutch kit. my assault with ch. extremes out climbs the pro rmk 163 that has slp stage 2 kit. but then again its hard to say if my track has something to do with that but other than that i really like the power addiction combo kit.

you should be able to find a PA head, hps can, and a clutch kit for around $9-1k! I am looking realy hard at the PA head with the CPI combo, had cpi do my porting on my 08'xp allong with there pipe and can and it hauled the mail for sure.

If your budget is only $800, Pa head, stock can, and clutch it right. Save the rest for fuel $$$. If you want anymore power than that, I would skip all the other stage kits and jump up to a pg turbo. Been around stage 3 and 4 slp kits. They did not impress me. In fact, most envied the way my sled runs all day everyday with the pa head and clutching. Runs right with them and no tuning. The silber pro I rode was crazy just running 7lbs of boost.WOW His sled has been pretty much pull rope and go. I'm pretty impressed with how far the turbo setups have come since their early days. Imo, anything inbetween is a waste of time and money. By the time you spend the cash on a stage iv kit, you know you're gonna get spanked by a turbo and end up with one... :face-icon-small-coo Or Stay with the Pa head and a reliable stocker. The throttle response and snap that this head creates over stock is what was missing for me. If you're looking for nothing but topend hp, you will not appreciate what the head does for for you.

Hi!
This is probarly a stupid question; What is a PA head?
Could you post links to the "shops" where they sells PA head and "his can", and carls cycle?

I'm living in Norway, unfortnently it isn't very easy to find aftermarked stuff for my 11' Assault RMK here :(

Pa= power addictions. fxtmotorsports sells them or go straight to the man that makes them. 1200psi on here is Brad. Owner of Power Addictions. As for Carls cycle, A google search for Carls Cycle sales should find you their contact info. Probably the premier Polaris mountian setup dealer. Shocks, clutching and bigbore setups. They are the one to talk to.

What exactly does the PA-head do? Is it just to mount it, or do I Have do do anything else with the engine to make it work? :) Will the pa-head and cals cltch kit make the sled quicker ( better acceleration) and better throttle response?:)

Yes, you just take off the stock head, and replace it with the pa head. No other mods or fuel controller needed. Yes, the sled will be much quicker and much snappier throttle response. Then the clutch kits make your sled pull harder and stay at optimal rpm at all times. Clutching of course varies according to your elevation and how deep and how steep you generally play in.

Kinda surprised no one has tried the RKT drop ins yet. They seem like the biggest bang for the buck at $800....Pistons, Head, and base gasket.

We have many 800 Drop In kits out there running. Just because they are not posting on SW does not mean they are not out there.

The drop in kits are running exceptionally well... Very happy with the results. They really do deliver.. The 858 kit is running very well also as is our custom patented head.. ALL 3 adding significant power to this engine..

The Pro with some power enhancement is a whole different sled.. So, we are finally enjoying the Pro with this new found power.

Increasing mid rpm range power is always good (and all of our kits do that) but I have never climbed a hill or raced anybody at 7000rpm (midrange).. So, we designed these kits for Mid-range power AND ,more importantly, top end, WOT power increases..

Last week in 3ft of new bottomless POWDER the difference between a stock Pro , DOO, or Cat and the Modded Pro was significant.. Stock Pro not being able to go up the hill and the mod Pro going straight up it at 50MPH... So, very happy with the outcome of these kits..

I have the PA head at 10K+. I have to say that I'm not nearly as impressed with that head as I was with a custom head on my D8. The detonation sensor went off yesterday and I had to switch back to my ethanol plug. I run 10% ethanol 91 octane here in Colorado. Mid range seems to be strong but I'm clutched too high with 62's. I'm not even sure if 60's will be adequate. I'm going to check my valves to make sure they are not bad. I have a brand new primary spring in too. Just throwing this out there so that you don't expect big gains.

Kelsey,
Are you clutching these kits with your own "custom blend"? In your comparison last week, what elevation were you at? So far it seems like you have done your fair share of testing...SnowSnob, pull the trigger on this thing so we can get some reviews!:face-icon-small-hap

Right but with a pipe and head you can take it off an put it back to stock before you bring it in.

With those stock pistons, you WILL be using your warranty in the near future and maybe be paying for a helicopter ride...

With my pistons or Big bore kit.. you will not be using that part of the warranty..

These kits FIX (really fix not just called "fix") an issue with the stock pistons and add some signifcant power inthe process.. So, if you are OK always worrying when your stock pistons will crap out on ya.. Don't change them and if you are happy getting high marked onthe hill.. don't change them..

This sled is just so much more fun to ride when it is making more power..

As for the clutching question.. Been testing many different combos.. Have some good set ups (and many no so good set ups ) We MUCH prefer the Tied clutch in the steep and deep.. The TSS04 is fine for racing but we find it to struggle in the 3ft deep powder..

Nice reply/question Rob! If it sounds too good to be true, it usually isn't. I am not buying the claim/exaggeration.

Last Friday up Willow Creek, did that Pro with you have the drop in kit or was it stock?
