Perfect snowmobiling?

I've been considering either opening up as a vendor, or helping one, or a group vendors achieve the task of putting together a special kind of trip. What do you guys imagine for yourselves, or your group to be the ideal snowmobile vacation? What would it include? Where would it be? Who would it be with? Activities, rallies, games?

I've already got a little bit of a vision in my head, but I need your help, as I am only one mind, and y'all seem pretty bright!

If I were travelling for sledding....I'd want this (in a perfect world)

- good riding nearby (obvs), with not a ton of people
- nice woodsy house/cabin to stay at.
- hot tub/steam shower/sauna or something like that on site.
- men's of drying all you gear out for riding days in a row
- riding from said place a bonus, but driving truck is ok if riding is nearby.
- fuel relatively accessible
- other than that I think the pieces would fall into place??

Anyone have experience with any of these ride clinics? What are the top clinic vendors or lodge vendors you all have heard of, or had a personal experience with?

I myself am looking into getting all my certs this summer for avalanche safety and rescue.

The family thing may be your biggest challenge. I made quite an effort to include my wife in sledding but she hated every second of anything having to do with the sport. A good friend thought he had what it took in order to turn sledding into a family oriented sport, his wife eventually hated sledding and everything it stood for. A third friend was pretty sure he was a better persuader than both of us, so he took his wife on a trip and over the coarse of one day she learned to hate me and her husband more than ever before. It takes one fine tough woman to take on sledding, for most guys it's their escape time needed to receive some well deserved "Powder Therapy". Good Luck!!

We could certainly look into putting something together. PM me and I'll give you my number.

Our riding tenure is awesome, possibly one of the best in the industry, there is a massive variety of riding terrain, we also have our coveted Whistler sub-alpine that is very similar to the terrain in this link,

Here is another area with my tenure that offers some of the best technical tree riding:

That's awesome stuff guys!

With or without anyones help, I plan to work diligently over the summer to make something great happen. Im not too concerned with what I might get out of it, I honestly just want to see it happen. The sport is exploding, and people are having fun, which that alone is fuel for my fire. In the last 3 years I've experienced and witnessed some things that make me confident of the outcome. :)

Obviously anyone who has a solid business within the industry has what it takes to team up, and create a positive outcome for everyone. I will send PM's with my contact info, and others that I have been working with so far.

Feel free to PM me yours, and info of other great vendors any of you know of.

By the way I've got a pretty solid idea/formula that might be a fix for the family challenge? Pretty simple really, Maybe we just have to include activities that'll make it fun for everyone.

I went on a trip that was organized by our local dealer. Bus trip was 10-15 hrs long. It was 18 years ago so it's kinda fuzzy.
They chartered a bus to take the people to Yellowstone and arranged for the hotels. They hired an 18 wheeler to take the sleds.
It was cool cuz we all bonded on thecwaythere and when we got there we all rode with our normal group. It woulda been pretty hard to organize 50 people to ride.
Everyone gets up at different times and sleds different and has different skills so there was something for everybody.
I would suggest a place where there is all kinds of riding, trails, hills etc so kids and wives can enjoy.
Maybe hookup with dealers so the bus could stop at different dealers and pick people up. Would be cool cuz the dealer wood be getting a bus load of potential customers at each pickup. Kinda like Mexico where the bus stops at all the funky places selling tequila or timeshares!
Get non refundable deposits so it'll cover expenses if people cancel.

IMO the secret to making the family thing work is diversity. Few of the wives will want to ride as hard at as much as the guys. The means they have something to do. That answer can't be come along or stay in the room and read a book.

Heli-Mobiling into remote area's.

Thatd be nice. Spendy though... Its actually been running in my head, Im confident if we build enough of an outside interest, and kept the heli busy they might cut us a deal, either per ride, or per group, x amount of times a day, or week. For example, one sled rental at a spot in my area, is 175 a day for the lower end sleds, 275 a day for the m8 and pro. 10 rentals gets 2 sleds free.

Hopefully the same might be applied to other areas.

If you can provide the ultimate wilderness experience $500 per day all inclusive is reasonable.

A full day of Heli-Skiing consisting of 6 to 8 runs cost between $375 & $475 per day...$500 seem like a good deal :-)

Avy classes start at $75 for a basic coarse.
