penticton riding?

hey guys,
im up in penticton bc for the weekend and im looking for some close riding
ive heard theres riding in apex which i think is only like 45 mins away, but i dont have any idea where at apex to ride?
also i was told that theres good riding at merrit which is only 2 or so hours away
does anyone know where the trails start or where i can park and ride from the truck?
also im not looking for trail riding or even climbing really, i just want some powder to play in
