Peanut Knob Conditions!

Anyone been up to Peanut Knob in the last couple of days? Looks like the Baker Lake Rd. is pretty nasty...trying to figure out if it is worth the trek up there? Pics are great too!:camera:

We were up Friday and Saturday (CUUPTOP was first both days bastage!!!)

Still a fair amount of lumber showing on the side of peanut nob but once you get up top the main canyon is pretty filled in. Visability was pretty poor and if you hit a bump or small hill you were stuck all the way to China. Snow underneath is still baseless but now there is some thicker stuff on top.

A buddy tried to climb Sulphur and got stuck pointed straight downhill if that tells you anything:)

Well that's a bummer...still no base yet huh? At least you made up in there! Hopefully that heavier top layer will start compressing some of that light powder down. Might make for some Avy conditions though down the road! Thanx for the info..:)

up there yesterday afternoon.still needs more snow.stopped at snow bridge.it was getting nasty out.it looked like some one has broke trail along creek.to late in the day to get stuck.

I was up yesterday(Sunday) and weather was awesome..even some sun breaks. Lots of snow.

You could not tell that a trail had been broken up to peanut yet. Must have been Sledkillers foot step tracks that walked up to take a peek at the start of the snow bridge.(I know there was a trail blazed but it's all gone again.)

I couldnt break trail to Peanut as I had a rookie with me. More snow would be nice up the ravines and in the creeks. The medow looked like there could be some hidden trees under the snow..I scraped some bark a couple of times. I rode a bit in the medow and it was freaking deep and fun with not crap for a base though. I could not walk in the snow..sunk to my chest..

Had to park on the Baker hiway...nothing had been plowed to the snowpark. The hiway was only one lane but the two graders were working on it..looked like over 3 ft on the roadway..melting big time on the way out. Saw AJ on his way out and he said Anderson had NO base either.

Well its good to hear that the highway crews are working on the road up there...gonna have to put some serious time into getting that all cleared out! So much snow falling but no base! What a teaser! Did the groomer make it into Shreibers yet?

got up to Peanut today, but visibility was horrible and the wind was picking up so we played in the meadow. Saturday was stuckfest, today had about a foot of fresh on everyones weekend tracks. I dont think anyone has made it to hood yet. Definately enough snow to have fun, but the creeks are far from filled in.

We tried to get up to Hood on saturday but I just couldn't see if I was moving or not!!!!

Exactly.......face full of snow, white on white, thought If I turned right I would drop down but apparently there was a hill in front of me that disagreed and I was stuck to all hell and back!!!

We were pretty close to the base of hood hill though.
