Peace-loving Muslims are irrelevant

I have had many conversations with people on this forum. I have been called some pretty nasty stuff because of my views. THis is the best article Ihave found to date that explains my point of view about terrorists and peaceful muslims.

Until the Peace Loving muslims stand up and take control, there ARE no peace loving muslims. The terrorist have set the agenda for the muslim world. The terrorists will continue to set the agenda and set the world view of the muslim faith based on the terrorist actions until the peaceful muslims stop them.
We can't do it for them.
All we can do is kill as many of the terrorist as possible while the peacful ones try to make up their minds.

No the question is, if the peace lovers stood up, would they still be the peace lovers?

Maybe middle of the stream muslims is a better term...and of course the vocal minority we have now would be your extreme left or right of middle whack jobs.

Whether we saw it or not is irrelavent.
At that time and under those circumstances we would be the ones that become irrelavent.

What we see and hear makes no difference.
What they do and how they do it, that is what makes the difference.
Just look at Iraq.
Our troops didn't force the local tribal leaders to come forward, denounce the terrorist and start working with our troops.
The surge (you know the one all the libs and the media were laughing at) gave the temperary security they locals needed to feel safe enough to act. Once they acted the bombings and killings went WAY down. Even the libs are having to admit the surge worked. The locals saw what happened when they said no more. The terrorist tried to bring them back under their thumb by killing some of their leaders and their families. This just intensified the backlash against the terrorist.

Now we just need more to stand up and say no. Till then, the fight will continue.

As usual, we are reading from the same page. I spent way too many years of my life over in that place. Are parts of it beautiful, you betcha'. Are some of the people awsome, you betcha'. Is it a s hithole? You betcha'.

I love it when people that never spent ONE SECOND out on the pointy end of the stick start yappin' about how a big old group hug will solve the worlds problems.

For me it boils down to this, there is an a sshole for every chair in the world. If you chose to be one, here's your prize. You want to be decent to other people, come on over, have a beer (or a diet Dr. Pepper) and we'll tell some lies together.

For all you political followers, I don't think you should be able to serve in congress, the senate, or the oval office if you haven't been out there on the pointy end. Period. I'm not saying that's ALL you need to be a good leader, just that it should be the first disqualifier.

If there were terrorist that were short and fat with long hair, I'd be happy to stand up and denounce them, because I wouldn't want to be associated with them. Some times you have to fish or cut bait.

Hang in there Ollie and just ignore (I know you do!) the pin heads. Someday, maybe they will grow up.

I finally got an answer to your question regarding the clerics and their failure to denounce terrorism - direct from the mouth of a "peace loving Muslim".

...and I quote..

....and he was completely OK with this response. I was floored. It seems your theory on irrelevancy is spot on.

Bagger - I just got back from the middle east (I am a civilian) and your assesment is incredibly accurate.

It amazes me that there are pars of the world that people can't/won't/don't stand up for what they believe in. All part of what makes this country great. The simple fact that we can debate these types of issues in a public forum is a privaledge too many libs take forgranted.

I'll be at the denver snow show party pretty much all day saturday till whenever saturday night.

Back on subject.

That is pretty much what I understood also.
If the clerics don't follow the script they can be removed, shunned or openly killed. It is sad really.
I figure it will take approx 4-8 more years of open warfare to get a real change. It took over 40 years to get where we are with the muslim religion, it isn't going to fix itself overnight.

This has been one of the best assessments of the situation I have seen thus far.

Like Skinner said the same could be said for many of us in this country when dealing with political agendas both greenies and the ultra liberal. There are far too many people that latch on to a feel good idea and don't realize or bother to look into the effects of such actions.
