pcv tables

I just got my pcv and installed the cd on my computer. I hooked up the pcv to the computer and saved the slp map. My question is why does it show 4 cylinders and four tables but the first 2 cylinders have the same numbers and 3 and 4 have the same numbers but different than 1 and 2?

no prob. i asked all these questions like a year ago too... if you don't know ask... thats what this site is for :face-icon-small-coo

I downloaded a map from dynotech and it only has one page, does it work the same?

Yes, If you look at the top of the page above the table it shows cylinders 1,2,3,4.

I'm not so sure on that one. The promoted map (advanced) shows the 4 tables on the LH side of the screen. If the 4 tables are not displayed, then the same map is used for all injectors when the injectors are active. At least this is my understanding. The ECU fires the part load injectors for only a short window of TPS as can be seen on the SLP map so any overlap or map "crosstalk" is minimized. For a better explanation, SCarter in "Performance/Modified" PC V section can handle this question. Personally, I like the 4 injector map better as I find I "land" in the transition TPS range a lot and don't like all the fuel that some maps (or Autotune) have there.

The dynotech maps are a modification to the stock map and maintains the same transition from low to high injectors.
The Slp map has modified the transition point as well. For my setup I prefered the Slp map with the accelerator pump function enabled.

Yes and No. It will still have high and low differences because of which injector set the ECU will be using but with the 4 tables (advanced) you can dial in low & high RPM for each the mag and pto side... sometimes there are subtle differences you may want to tune to.
I don't know what you're running in your sled, but I had the full SLP single and PCV... dynotech was too rich for me but the SLP map with the original 2010 flash in my sled ran best

I stand corrected and have a better understanding of the advanced tables. Thank You Rick

When you load a map from the computer to the PCV, does it load instantly?
I just did mine and it took less than a second for the map to go from the computer to the PCV.. It said "map load successful"
I just wanna make sure the map is loaded onto the PCV!
Is this what everyone elses did?
Thanks

To verify if the map loads, close the current map, and hit the "get map" button and open the fuel table. It should be the same one you loaded. I add notes so when you pull up the amp, the notes should reflect the curretn map. Loading a map is a fast operation so it may be easy to think that "not enough" happened.

Awesome! Looks like the maps on there.
Now when you hit "get map" it still remains on the PCV, it doesn't take it off or delete it? "get map" is only showing you what is on there but does not delete or erase the map off the PCV.
Thanks

The "get map" function only reads the map from the controller, doesn't update or erase it. I think the only way to "clear" the map in the controller is to send a "0" map.

I got the jan10 Stoutner map on
My machine.
My question is are you suppose to have your ethanol wires, plugged in or unplugged?? While running DTR map.
2010 Rmk 800. The fuel I run contains NO ethanol
Do the ethanol wires have anything to do with jims map?

As I understand it you run unplugged unless you are absolutely certain you have non-ethenol fuel.

Yes, I understand that, but when dynotech came up with the "Stoutner map"
Did they have the ethanol wires plugged in or unplugged when they had the machine on the dyno?, and made all the changes to the map.

Thanks Rick!
I can only imagine it would affect the mapping, because from my understanding there is a 5%+/- difference of having the ethanol wires plugged in or unplugged. mine are unplugged running the stoutner156 map using 94 fuel with NO ethanol in it. when i ran my machine on the weekend the mid range stumble was 99% gone. Wondering if plugging the wires in would make a difference? but plugging them in make in 5% leaner from my understanding??
anyone with further info on the ethanol wires and the pcv maps, shed some light!
