PC5 Maps - MOST RECENT MAP, Please Read !!!

There is a misunderstanding - Jim's site ( Dynotech Research ) as of TODAY is still showing the previous MAP's to the most recent FLASH on the 14th of Jan

DTRD810SLPStoutnerJan162hpWOT.pvm
DTRD810StockStoutnerJan157hpWOT.pvm

We have been testing maps for Jim and the Map we're providing and have been providing for the last week is an UPDATED/ NEW / TWEEKED map that Jim provided to us last Saturday for Terez

The confusion has been, that the "title" "description" of the map is the SAME because Jim did not change the 'title' of the map before he adjusted it and sent to us, as well it was not re-named before we started sending it out

Any PC5's we are mapping NOW/this last WEEK/ all have the very NEWEST MAP and we are re-naming that map today so people do NOT think it's the same older map that is still listed on Jim's site

The maps will be re-named

PC5 STOCK PIPE for Jan 14th Flash
PC5 SLP pipe set for Jan 14th Flash

that should eliviate a number of calls from guys concerned about getting the most recent maps "which" WE HAVE BEEN SENDING OUT with good success

Spenc

thank you Spenc.

What Spenc is referring too is not the map title, but the map description listed below the fuel table.

I have a very separate map name for each iteration of PCV maps for early 2010 flash, mid January flash, and 2009 flashes (yes some wise D8 owners are still, happily using those).

DTR PCV programs can be sent around by email, and if anyone has a mystery map please email me directly (not PM) and I can determine the proper application.

SledWerx Spenc has DTR PCVs on the shelf, and provides rapid delivery to Canadian riders as opposed to ordering from U.S. where the U.S/ Can customs people seem to take delight in delaying delivery of very seasonal products. I keep Spenc up to date on every new development so he can pass that on to his (our) customers.

Everyone has been very happy so far reporting 7-8HP improvement and anywhere 8-10mph over stock with the PC5

We will be holding an official PC5 STALKER/BROWER test day here shortly, possibly next weekend if ice holds and will be reporting all findings with pics etc on our web site forums

Cheers

You can add me to that "happy" group as well!! I ordered my PC5 from DTR and received it last week. I installed it on my sled Tuesday the 2nd of Feb and rode it for a while, big difference! I am running a 2009 D8 Switchback with 245 miles on it, I have the 1/14/2010 flash from Polaris, and have my ethanol wires plugged it. Running 91 octane fuel with zero ethanol in Southern MN. I can't remember the last time I had such a big smile on my face than after riding the machine with the PC5 installed!! (don't tell my wife I said that!!)

One question, I am noticing an ever so slight, occasional stumble with the PC5 and the DTR fuel map for the 1/14/2010 flash. I haven't been able to pinpoint it, but appears to be in the upper 3000 to low 4000 rpm range and in the 20-40 % throttle position range. I have looked diligently at the fuel map that was loaded into my PC5 and see you guys have added tons of fuel in that range! I'm just curious if you have heard of this and adjusted anything further in those rpm/throttle position ranges?

Thanks for the great product, really brought my machine to life!!

If you feel a lean stumble in a particular zone like 3750 to 4000 in the 20-40% throttle range what you are experiencing is a spot that is probably 17.5/1 or leaner which will probably cause deto and or seizure if left in that area long enough. The quick fix is to "get" your PCV map, then with your mouse highlite the offending area, and adding some extra area. Ie: highlight 3500-4250 from 15% to 50% then hit your "page up" button, say, 15 times. That will enrichen the fuel flow in that block by 15% which means the 17.5/1 stumble area will now be 14.5/1 or thereabouts.

Not all of these D8s are perfectly equal--especially the 1/14 flash so some tweaking like this may be necessary to optimize and customize the tune perfectly for your machine.

Jim,

Are you going to post a map for the 14 Jan flash on your website? Has any of your test riders sent you numbers that have been tested & adjusted?

So far so good on mine with the latest DTR map; just want to fine tune it.

Thanks for the help.

Thank you very much! I wasn't aware you could enrichen/lean a whole block such as you explained, I thought it had to be done cell by cell. Great tip.

apparently I was trying to run the 1/14 map on the 1/14 flash, cause my dealer told me that they relfashed it, couldnt get the 1/14 map to work, start detonating. so i pulled off controller, rode with the infamous bog, hesitate, stumble, seen it all. So I did a little playing around and I tried the 2010 motor pc5 map and it works 100%, so is what im thinking, they didnt flash the motor. only thing I can think of, not letting polaris touch it again. but ya it's good to know that we can add more fuel easily now, for future reference. thanks to jim at dynotech, great service even on a sunday.. thanks for the great product

I have tested alot now with my PCIII, tried both dynotech and slp latest map. I have slp single pipe and i got the annoying stumble in the midrange. have tried +20 numbers from 4000-6000rpm at 5-40% tps but it's still there:/ and the motor is very rich witch i can hear in that range.
I haven't been adding any fuel at 0% and 2% throttle position, could that be the thief?

Those of you running PCIII and PCV along with 800s w/ SLP pipe kits and the original 2010 flash (not the one from 1/14 or whatever...)... Have any of you continued to have the DET light come on while riding in midrange?

If I'm running the original 2010 Flash with PCV and Jim's SLP map... I shouldn't ever have the DET light come on correct? Could I just have a faulty/oversensitive sensor?

Ordered my Pc from jim. Only issue is my password/username does't work on the sight but i am assuming he hasn't updated it yet so its all good. I and extremely excited to get some testing done.

I go to pick my D8 up from a new top end. Hope all goes well.

Hope it's soon, I would rather do that then take it back to be re-flashed. I lost quite a bit of R's with the latest flash..
