The steering linkage in my 2006 900 was loose and making the trail ride to and from the steep and deep just a bit scary.:becky: So... in the process of pulling the motor I discovered a number of small issues. I need advice on where to buy motor mounts. Hi performance seems to be the cheapest, but are they good? Anyone have experience? Also I need to replace the Jack shaft bearing. Do they make a greasable bearing? Do I need to pull the jack shaft out to replace? Thanks for the help.

so are all stock replacement motor mounts for the 2006 RMK the same? I know Comp Fusion are the best. Just wondering?

That's a matter of opinion. They are a great product, but too rigid, IMO

Order a set of AllBallz bearings for your jackshaft and install a zerk fitting.

Check out the link below for a few things to look for with the loose steering, i might not just be loose linkage like I found out

Yup, compusion are good but they will transfer more vibration to your hands and feet, especially when you are on the trail riding in and out of your favorite spot.

The loose steering turns out to be loose linkage. Nothing a bit of blue bolt juice can't fix. Where is the best place to buy oil line to replace the old stuff while the engine is out? Babbits wants $30, they must sell it by the roll. Is this something I can get at the autoparts store?

Just went to replace the motor mounts so I could install the engine. I opened up the motor mounts from hi-performance which look good but the holes aren't threaded! Is this normal? I'm is supposed to tap the mounts by myself? This seems crazy to me! Have you guys had to tap your mounts to put them in the cross member?

Anyone had this problem? Should I just order oem mounts and return these? I realy thought I would have this beast running this weekend. Anybody know where I could buy OEM part in Utah?

The Mounts aren't supposed to have threaded holes.

The old mounts that I am replacing are threaded into the the crossmember and held in place by two torx bolts. The new mount from hi-performance has the two wing holes but they are not threaded. The picture is hard to see the but is the best I can do.

Is that what holds the mount to the crossmember or are there nuts on the backside? Is it possible that it just looks like there are threads in there from it being loose and vibrating? Haven't had much experience with these mounts yet but I am going to familiarize myself with them soon.

I thought that same thing. So I drilled them for bolt clearance and added loc nuts to the back side... No worries about backing off due to vibation.
