parking sled for season after a new top end acceptable?

Well I have just put a new top end in my 09 600 rmk. I have had a chance to run it for ten minutes at least 5 times and have had it down the alley for some short low speed rides. What i am wondering is if it is acceptable to park the sled for the summer without toally breaking it in? I feel as if i should HAVE to put a full tank of mixed fuel through the sled before i park it? I would obviously break it in at the start of next season. Right now the conditions in my area are BRUTAL and i would not even feel right about riding my sled at this point. What do you guys think?

Thanks

What are your options?? Being in Saskatchewan you might not have too many without making miles to the mountains. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here but I think if you fog the cylinders before storage you should be fine.

A lot of the lake regions I spent most of the season riding were 2-3 feet deep this year but its been so nice out everything has already dropped. I'm pretty concerned and don't want to have to travel by myself to break in a new top end.

Any other opinions?

Is it alright to park my sled at this point? If so is there anything specific i should do to the engine to ensure a safe sleep over the summer?

I agree; fog the engine first, shut it down, and remove the plugs. Spray fogging oil in each cylinder for a few seconds. You can finish breaking it in next season.

I would fog it still. In fact, I'd recommend fogging these newer engines after every ride, or anytime they are going to sit for a few days.

You wouldn't have to fog it til it dies everytime, but I would definitly fog it!
