Parking at West Mountain

Its been awhile since I have been to the parking lot at West Mtn. The last time I was there they had moved it west up the turn off road and plowed out a nice area above the main road several hundred yards. I do not remember the size of the area plowed out. We are planing on coming up from UT. Will be in a 40 ft Motor home with a 27 ft enclosed. Is there enough room to get turned around in the parking lot? If not can you park on the main road that goes around the lake at the turn off?

The parking lot at West Mountain is not the largest, your best bet with that large of a rig is to park paralle along the road since it is plowed 3 lanes wide before you get to the turn off of anderson creek, plenty of room to turn around there as well. Anderson creek is where the parking lot is.::face-icon-small-coo

would it be wrong if i double back him on that. :boink:just built my sled deck and tested it out for the first time yesterday. SWEEEEET!!!! no more parking issues :face-icon-small-hap

I agree! After many years of using a trailer, I now rock a toyup industies sled deck.. Now way will I ever go back!

Greetings LM,

West Mt. is a great riding area, since your last visit you may not know but there is a warming hut at four corners which is approximately 7 miles from the Andersen Creek parking lot. In addition to parking along side the road as previously suggested your other option is to disconnect your trailer and park your motor home along side of your trailer at the trail head parking lot. As a suggestion it maybe prudent to walk the route from the road to the parking lot (1000') prior to pulling your 67' rig in there. I would guess that if the parking lot was completely empty you could get your rig in there and disconnect your trailer and park your coach, you will need to jack knife your rig some. The north end of the parking lot can be very icy use caution.

FYI...

Smithferry has a large parking lot along side of hwy 55 plenty of room for parking larger rigs. The high elevation parking lot below Brundage has a vehicle length restriction of 52'. Someone will chime in if 52' is not correct. Don't forget to purchase an out of state trail sticker. Enjoy your visit.

Craig.

You can also access West Mt from the Donnelly side. There isn't a parking lot, all parking is on the road and it is plowed quite wide. We've seen many a motor home parked along the side of the road and you can easily park a motorhome in there. There is a warming hut and grooming shed with outside bathrooms if you need them. You can access a lot of area on the back side of Tamarack and head to Poison lake and on to Hill 44.

Hope you have fun.
