I thought it would be helpful to start a thread dedicated to those of us that have a PAR 910 kit to share clutching and tuning notes.

I have a 13 Pro w/ 910 and VIPEC. Currently running CPI single but excited to hear how the CPI twins are working.

My map is from Bryce w/ Turboboyz and seems to be pretty darn good at this point.

Clutching is 60-38.36 helix, Black/White secondary spring and SLP Hi altitude shim, 10-62's and Team Green primary.

I ride at 9000 - 11000 ft.

I have heard that some guys have been going to a straight helix in lieu of a multi angle helix. Anyone vouch for this? Anyone else want to share what has worked well for them?

Happy trails :)

Also just want to add that I have been thoroughly impressed with Brad and Bryce. Their help and knowledge is very impressive. Customer service has been top notch. Could not be happier with my sled. The 910 w/ Vipec is a fantastic combo.

Keep up the great work guys!

just put my 910 in last night. im running twin pipes and power commander with autotune but i cant get the auto part of the tuning to work haha. i think my afr sensor is buggered up. the pipes fit perfect and sound amazing!

I am sure you'll love it! If you can't figure it out we have an awesome map for the vipec. Pm me if you have an questions about clutching or anything else you need.

KC is the man...knows these sleds well and has helped me a ton. They really come alive with the right map and correct clutching. I am loving mine :)

Good to here!! Crazy how a little tuning and data logging can make a difference. Send me another log I would like to look at it again. Now she is working good.

Bryce - thanks for the continued help. I know you have a ton of people pulling at you for your time. Your insight and help tuning the VIPEC has been more than helfpful. You certainly know your s**t.

THANK YOU!

Hey guys, just getting my broke in, doing a bunch of heat cycles (brads advice). I find that it has a crazy vibration from 3000-4000 rpm, goes right through into the floor boards, I was wondering if you guys had the same vibration?

Mine does but I have it on a fastrax engine plate. I always thought that's what caused it. I have 1200 miles on mine & its never changed!

Just stock mounting here, was concerned it might be a problem.

Ya it was a false alarm, last year when I tried this, I was using the boost-it motor mounts, the vibration was very bad with them, so this time I got new stock mounts, and just off idle I was feeling the same vibration, but I did not have the clutch on, so once I got it on the vibration went away, it's all good now, I've got a little run time on it, logs generated, all seems good so far.

I haven't had any vibrations with the motor. The 3" track causes some though. I put a slp torque arm on mine and it seemed to keep everything inline a lot better.

So I've had mine out a couple weekends now, and it's running ok, but I am wondering if you guys are having a similar issue, after a couple pulls up the hill, which seem fine, the third pull won't pull the rpm, the pipe is heating up by that point but not significantly from the first two pulls, probably high 500's, then around 610, for the second, and possibly 630 on the third. I read somewhere that there was two generations of the CPI pipe and possibly my problem is caused by gen 1, what's your thoughts.

I have not heard of 2 generations of CPI pipes...perhaps KC can speak to this. I have NEVER had any issue what-so-ever with it not pulling RPM or acting like yours is. Who's map are you running? What is your clutching?

Mine rips hard all day every day. I know KC's does too.

Happy to help if you want to call me as well 970-672-7212

I know brad spent a lot of time with CPI on building the best single pipe for the 910. I heard they made acouple different pipes but I am not sure if any of the first ones went out with a motor or if they were just test pipes. I would call up brad and ask him for sure.

Bryce and I are working on a egt trim table, it's in the testing stages still but showing great results.

Have you noticed what your afr's are doing when your pipe temps climb that high? I am not sure what they should be on the singles but with the twins it seems to run best at 530-560 degrees.

What did you end up running for clutching?

Well I am actually Running Bryces Map that has the EGT Trimming which is actually the one 800xtreme sent me with the added EGT Trimming, but the Pipe Temps still seem to climb, up to as much as 650, The AFR goes down to low 11's as the the pipe temp increases. So the Trim Control doesn't seem to be working for me, thats what got me thinking about the pipe maybe having too small of a stinger and also this thread on snow and mud.

But I did get my Motor and Pipe after this Post, So I Asssume I got a Good Pipe, But it seemed Like I got one of the First as it was in Feb 2013 When it got Shipped.

I am not sure about the EGT Trim Though as I have Leaning Problems when just cruising around 5-6000, I wasn't able to log the leaning problem, but I was getting some backfiring and misfiring in that Range.

Currently I have Series-11-64 Weights, I went with these Weights because of your advice of loading the heel of the tri-City Weights, I have the Stock Primary Spring 140/330, 60-40.40 Helix and Team Gold/Black 170/240 Secondary Spring.

Clutching is not perfect by any means, It does bounce around alot 7800-8300, I have ordered the Tricity Kit which you recomended, so I am waiting for that.

I also wanted to wrap my Pipe as I am having some hood melting issues as well, but I am concerned with this Pipe temp Issues. Might just try it anyway.

Its too Bad we can't Share Files on here, I'd Post My Log Files

KC,

I'm Not sure if you can access this, but it may help you in the EGT Trim.

Read Page 3.

It talks about an Cold Pipes actually Make the Engine go Lean in the Mid Range.

So from the table I saw very quickly as bryce locked it down, that trim table would add to the midrange leaning problem I was seeing. Also Just a thought, Maybe it should be compared to RPM, Not Throttle Position.

I will read this better tonight. We aren't turning the trim table on until the pipes are 100 degrees (Celsius) and before that it was set at 300 c. degrees. But we had to change it to 100 because of the pipes were cold then you would run way rich until the trim table turned on. As far as when the pipes are warm and above 100 degrees the trim table isn't taking much or.anything out until after the mid range on the 5500-6000 range, then it start to take more fuel out faster as the rpm's go up. It takes less fuel out as the pipes warm up also. So if you picture a graph from 0-5500 rpms it would be a straight line and then from then on it starts to drop as the rpms get higher in that particular pipe temp range.

Hope that makes sense
