Panther .204

I have a chance to purchase a Panther LR 204 for $1150, should I take it? I have been looking for a .223 for varmint's, will the .204 be here for the long haul?

Thanks for the help.

I'm unfamiliar with the .204 caliber, but the price sounds about right for the times if its new. I bought my LR-308 brand new about a year ago for $980 (before Uncle Sam got his cut). The exact same rifle is currently selling on Gunbroker for $1500-1700! Even saw one yesterday at the Spokane gun show for 2k.

I've got a 204 in a Remington XR 100 and absolutely love it.

It's a little on the spendy side for ammo even if you hand load compared to a .223 but it performs well for P dogs and the like. No recoil, but it is actually fairly loud for a small caliber.

Overall I'd say do it.

I say go for it.. or his me the guys number so i can ;).. haha..

the .204 is a great caliber IMO.. it easily reaches out to touch stuff and has good BC..

The only down turn to shooting a 204 over lets say a 223 is the price of ammo.. depending on how many rounds a year you plan on running through it might vary you decision
