painting plastic

I have always had good luck with Krylon Fusion. Make sure you sand the plastic first to create a good profile for the paint to stick too. Something like 400 grit paper works well. I have my doubts on how long the paint will last on skis. I think it might get worn off pretty quick.

keep us posted on how this works
my son is wanting to paint his skis also
and I just dont want it to wear right off and look like 5hit

skis might hold up in the powder for a while but the ice and hard packed snow will wear it down. I heard that heating the skis up with a heat gun and getting them worm and sanding them down and painting will work. IM not sure if its true or not but why not give it a try

It is going to be really tough to get paint to stay on skis. They are getting sanded down all the time by the snow. Better off to buy skis in the color you want. I can't see paint lasting a ride on the ski.

Even if you prep it right and use an adhesion promoter you wont get even the best quality paints to stick very long to the UHMW plastic used on most skis. Especially simmons. They call them flexi-skis for a reason. Save yourself the frustration and buy a set of black ones.
