Paintball?

So, anybody on here play/shoot paintball here?

I was in a bachelor party this Friday, and this was my first introduction to paintball. I think I'm gettin addicted... Was a whole lot more of an adrenalin rush than I expected.

Now, does anybody have any good recomendations on a good starter set (marker, helmet, all the stuff you need)? Would like a good marker, don't need anything TOO fancy. My friend got one that spits out 30 balls pr second, but tells me there's no way he can use that function, as he would run out of paint REALLY fast...Tried to look on ebay, but as I know too little about these markers, Id appreciate some info on it....

Thanks, Bull

I played at a bachelor party also. It was lots of fun, some of the guys that we played against do it a lot. Hurts like a mother ffer when you do get hit.

any tippman gun is good

you can get a tippman 98 custom and helmet and tank for i think $150 now adays

and there are so many mods you can do for those guns

i have 5 barrels just for my 98 custom then you can get response triggers to make them shoot faster

my younger brother has a a-5 and his gun can shoot out like 50 balls per sec with all his mods but he's got over $800 into that thing

Yeah good times. I used to play quite a bit but now have no time for it. I've got a Spyder that's been tricked out pretty good. rifled and ported barrel, trigger job, ect. I've also got like 3 20 oz co2 tanks and all the other stuff if your interested PM me I'd let it all go pretty cheap since I just don't use it anymore. Last thing I used it for was to get rid of some pigeons that got into the building I used to work at. Was kinda fun.

I'm a has been Paintballer I love the sport and miss it to no end, spent a good 6-7 years playing (and thousands of dollars even with small time sponsors). I used to do the tournament thing on the West Side (Utah, Idaho, Denver, and Vegas)...
A Tippman is Ok if it is only a 1 or 2 time a month thing you want to play, they are great guns don't get me wrong very reliable and little up keep not so spendy drop it in the mud a quick clean and its good to go. It's like a trail sled it does well and is fun but it can't hang with the BIG BOYS. One game with some of the higher end guns and the way they shoot Holy SH*$ you will want one…. It comes down to How and What you want to play.
Go to your local field and ask they guy’s running it what they shoot and see if they will let you rip a few, throw them some paint and they send all day with you most likely Paint is money…
I had a Mini Mag from Air gun designs with a retro valve (It made the trigger bounce) I’m a little old school

I used to play alot when I was in college, but haven't played much the last year or two. It is alot more addrenaline rush than you think and can be pretty addicting. I've got a Tippmann A-5 that I stuck about $800 into. They are a lot like sleds....once you have it you just keep buying aftermarket crap for it.

I'd say if you want a good, starter gun that you are going to use one or two weekends a month, I'd say go for a Tippmann 98 or an A-5 if you can find one reasonably priced. Like the last guy said......it's far from top of the line, but it doesn't cost $1200 either. Dollar for dollar, I'm not sure if you can get a marker that will be as accurate and reliable as a Tippmann.

ITs only 15 BPS not 50. I got about 700 into it. Lots of cammo. Like stated before get a tipmann it will out live you!! Get an a-5 off of ebay and throw a e-trigger on it. % modes of fun! and get a 16 inch barrel for snipin. I got a flat line and 4 other barrels. Wanna buy all my stuff for 400 US !!

You beat me to that correction. I believe 15 is about as fast as they go. Gravity/load rate becomes a problem, not the speed of the gun, even with an electronic hopper.

I went paintballin once with some friends.

went out and Ebayd a bunch of stuff for next time.

never went again, new gun in closet couple years old now.

Sound typical?

I bought a Spyder with an Etrigger

Went once last yr, FUN AS HE!!, till I took one in the nads:eek: Holy mother that friggen hurt for hours. Those things pack some pretty good heat.

I played ALLOT until about a year ago. I played for a local team here in utah in all the western U.S. tournaments. We played the NPPL (national professional paintball league) for a while and we also played all the UXPL (utah extreme paintball league) for the last little bit.
We started with autocockers and automags in the old school days and now we use Ego's, Angles, and Ion's.
I haven't played for a while except a little bit of rec ball here and there.
Here are a few pictures over the last few years.

If you want to have a lot of fun use Simuniton 9mm rounds in Glocks and M-4's. They are 9mm rounds with a detergent paint bullet. They will penetrate your flesh and draw blood if you are hit.....even through clothing. I have a few scars that will probably never go away. It is a rush like no other.:D

LOL..don't think I would want to hurt anyone THAT bad...might backfire after a while and people would start shooting on me...even those on my own team...

Don't see myself using it more than 4-5 times a month, something like once a week would be where we'd be at prolly....

Tippman seems like the way to go. Any places to search for more info on this topic? I'll start chasing e-bay for a good starter kit....

Seen a bunch of that stuff on Craigslist.... don't have to mess with shipping $$ that way. Just pick it up in town.
