paddle started to rip off, brp says no warrenty... 300k

just got the email from the dealer... and it was not positive one bit:(:(

last trip out i had let a buddy drive it down the trail at the end of the day... to my dismay he said it had a clunk, then a ticking noise after running a curve at a good speed

we looked for the problem and found one of the paddles starting to rip off, we ended up cutting it off because their was no other way... and i just took it would be covered under warrenty.... guess not:mad:

dealer says because of the broken fiber rods it was impack damage and will not be covered... what about the dam damage cause by track turning after paddle was hanging on

after last years BS i had to go with the xrs, it is starting all over once again... love the sled but just cannot deal with BRP anymore... this sled would of been much cheaper by going threw the US with out warrenty, because BRP gives crap about the customer and what they cover or not

950 dollars for a replacment.... gotta love BRP ...sled less than 300 miles

can these tracks be found cheaper?? time to upgrade the driveshaft now as well.. thanks guys for the input

Who at BRP made the decission? Local rep or head office? If it was head office, maybe you can get the local rep to look at it and see if he can change their minds?

I feel for ya man!

Not trying to piss in your wheaties, but that doesn't look like a manufacturers defect to me.

we had the same thing happen on VE's 05-m7--figured it probably hit something and caught ,,to much power:eek:;;;good luck, i got my 07x track warrantied,,the dealer really had to work for it..dont give up

LOL! yah, why dont you tell them how you fixed that track Darrell :D and ran it the rest of the season :cool:

How come?? Just curious..

I would like to see the other side of that torn off lug.

Thanks

Looks like a rock or stump punched the track to me. The rods are broken right at the rails, that was from an impact in between the rails. The track looks very lightly built, compared to all the tracks I've seen in the past, it's much more susseptable to damage. There was another post where a lug was ripped partway off and started to delaminate the track.

could of been, but why 200 miles latter and on a trail, not sure if you seen last years tracks, i had the same thing happen, at that was covered due to amount of others with similar problems

feel the bottom of all the cross bars between the rails.
My m7 got a rock caught in the rear skid on my second or third ride on it. You could feel the bottom of all the cross braces scratched up. broke one of the fiber glass rods in the track and tore a lug from the inside out. Lug stayed on for a ride or two, but was all cracked/tore up at the base where the rod broke. Then it fell off. I have around 1,800 miles on the sled know I believe. hasn't tore any more since then.
I would be pretty worried with it tore up where the drivers are.

Hey TA Just wondering if you or anyone else has pic's of last year's tracks, that were coming apart. Thanks

it had nothing to do with the buddy or the trail he was on... it is a flawed track or just bad luck, i haver never went threw tracks before, and now back to back years i have blown two with less than a couple of hundred miles,

found this

wtf did he hit??

that track looks like a good candidate for repair. Do a search and send pics to closest repair shop. They may be able to help you out. Keep the damaged piece, they may be able to re-attach it.

Buy a camo extreme, not the Doo track. It doesn't have holes in it but it's several hundred dollars cheaper.

I believe the Challenger Lite is the crappy one that came on last years Summit X.
