Pack Your Garbage Out....and Respect Closures!!

I am so sick and tired of people leaving their crap behind....found this track last weekend that was tore apart and just left beside a tree. It comes off a Yamaha, probably a four stroke (they are notorious for blowing tracks apart). Anyway, if anyone knows who's track it is please tell them to remove it. It's at the Torpy. It's bad enough that people leave their blown belts all over, but a track??? Come on!! We are fighting closures and we don't need the MoE seeing this crap. They are flying over in choppers every weekend out there to see if people are respecting the closures. Also.....I realize there are no sign indicating the closures in the Dell yet. But if you're a sledder that heads out to the Torpy you have to have some idea that that area is now off limits. Saw the Dell pretty tracked up and saw some sledders coming out of there last weekend. The area is gorgeous (see picture) and hard to resist the urge to go in there....BUT IF WE DON'T RESPECT THE CLOSURES THEY WILL CLOSE DOWN THE ONLY AREAS WE NOW HAVE!!

I agree pack your garbage out, sledding isn't bad here but every quad ride in the summer I'm picking up someone else's beer cans and garbage.

That area in the pic looks like it would be a fun area, interesting how Forestry let the lower half get logged (old and newer blocks seen), but they ban sledding in the upper areas? Is this a caribou  closure?

Entire sled at Silent Pass

Some people are so ignorant, and it's frustrating that the rest of us who respect the environment, the closures, and other riders are the ones who have to defend our sport!

An entire sled was left at Silent Pass in Golden a month or so ago. It was still there last weekend. Crashed and burned and left there to rot.
People have stripped parts off it so there's less of it there, but it's now pretty difficult to get it out. Our local guys are trying to get in and get it out somehow but why should other people have to waste their riding day and wear and tear on their sleds to rectify a situation that should've been dealt with by the owner of the sled. If you can't take responsibility for your mistakes, stay home and out of our riding areas! This area is not accessible once the snow melts. It's bad enough there are so many sled parts that show up once the snow goes, a whole sled is ridiculous.
Don't be a lazy SOB - get your A$$ back there and get your peice of SH#T sled !!!!
Anyone know who this dumfuk is...??

Apologies for the rant if anyone was seriously hurt in this crash...

Taminator, same thing in our riding area a couple months back. We found this 09 M8 SnoPro left to be stripped in one of the bowls......heard that the guy riding it got it caught on some rocks and it crashed. He told his riding buddies that if they could get the sled down off the rocks that they could have her because he was collecting the insurance. Well, when we happened across it the thing was totally stripped down....and some guy even had the audacity (while we we were playing in the next bowl) to trade his 07 seat for the 09!! Last I heard that the machine was buried somewhere out there. Next time if I ever find a sled like that I'm going to take down the serial numbers and get it traced back to the owner. Sure wished we would have thought of that. That SOB shouldn't have got one red cent out of insurance for leaving that sled to rot out there.

Incidents like this are TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. If anyone ever comes across an abandonded sled/quad be sure to get the VIN, report it to the RCMP and let them take it from there. Many options available for charges (littering, etc.) including the cost to remove from where they abandond.
This is BS and really pisses me off because in the long run it could come back to hurt all of our enjoyment in the backcountry!

Take down the VIN number for sure. If someone has no problem leaving a 10,000 dollar sled in the backcountry, they may not have "paid" for it.
