Riding up into two tops area sunday and came upon a small group of people. One older gentleman crashed into a bank and broke his leg bad. He had layed in the snow for 20 minutes before we got there. They had no survival gear. Between the 13 of us we covered him with two emergency blankets and a fleece blanket and also slid an emergency blanket under him. We also covered him in around 14 handwarmer packets and started a fire for them to warm up.
Took about an hour for rescue to arrive and it was very cold and windy there. They were lucky they had cell service and got ahold of 911 in west yellowstone.
everyone should pack atleast fire starter, a few emergency blankets, and basic first aid. definatley makes me think about satellite phone for our group
