Owyhee's

Anybody have any input on riding the Owyhee's? I have been wanting to try riding there, but have no idea where to even start out from? Where do you park a four place enclosed trailer, and is it even worth trying to ride there?

Not enough snow right now, it would be sketchy. If it get's enough I'd be willing to go show you around somtime.

You haven't even seen much of the Trinities yet. :)

I ride the owyhees all the time because its only an hour away for me. Not much snow this year, but if you know where to find it you can get some stuff. for parking we usually go to Jordan Valley and go up like you are going to the mine and park at "the tree". When there is more snow we go up cow creek and park at the gravel pit.

I was out there after the last snow storm looking for big cats and the snow was pretty thin, scraped lots of rocks in the area of cow creek summit. If you want to chance it the best bet is to go to jordan valley, turn left at the T in town and then turn left on trout cr rd, follow it across the top till you come to where cow cr rd intersects. there is a parking area there that is plowed just enough to back a 4 place in. Or before you get to jordan valley turn up cow cr rd and park at the gravel pile on the left after driving through the creek, I havent been that way this year, not sure if trun around is plowed out. if you go in silver city rd from murphy way youll have to stop at the corrals on sinker creek with a 4 place, after that theres not really anyplace to trun around with anything bigger than a open 2 place.

BMWMS and myself rode up that way 2 or 3 times we went to south mtn had a good time, but that was when the snow was at its best a couple years ago.Chicken or feathers with the Owyhee's. At this time with the snow pack up that way the way it is . I would probably not wast the gas or time,It is a fun place to ride when we get dumped on with a big storm but seems that it melts of just as fast.

Good luck and have fun where ever you decide to go :D:D
