ovs aero 53 ????

looking at buyin a 09 hcr with a ovs aero 53 kit on it, is this thing going to give me problems down the road. also it's running 8psi boost on race gas what were these kits rated at for power.

Should I pass this sled up and just build a bd or twisted turbo sled?

I havent heard anything about the reliabilty of the areochargers, but they sure are a nice clean install, and virtually no turbo lag from what i hear. Plus they are a bit lighter to due to the lack of an oil tank. A buddy of mine has an ovs garret kit on an 08 m8 and he loves everything about it exept having to run race gas. That stuff is expensive.

any problems with the turbo? heard the 53's blow up easy and shouldn't go over 10psi.
can these kits be run on pump gas???

Have a buddy with a D-8 running an aero 53 at 8psi for last two seasons. Has run flawlessly. That is pretty much max boost for that turbo on that sled from what I hear. He is running 50/50 sunoco 112 and pump at 8000' and up.

Things are great, got the sled already to go to revy Monday. Just counting down the days to leave I will send you some pics when i get back there buddy then you can wish you were there.

There was a turboed HCR at Leading Edge in Kamloops that sold and one in Fernie at Ghost Rider Motorsports that may still be available.

Im jealous Muz. I guess i keep workin on my gf's sled makin it look prettier and wait for Hirev to show up on Sun. Cat green is pretty cool..Like the cousin says...prettie kitties now thay hes gone to the other side..lol till he gets it good and stuck....lol

I think the turbo'd sleds are good as long as they have the right kit / fuel etc..Im waiting for the kit that costs 1100.00 and gives 700 hp and makes your engine last longer....

I'm running an 07 M8 with the 53 @ 10psi and love it!! I have 850miles on the Turbo (1800miles total) and just blew the DD. At first it was a learning curve with the fuel but very easy to set. I run 100% sunoco 112 and use the attitude box.
