Overheating 600

Hi again fellow hawkers.

Is there something special about keeping a 600 cool ???

Mine is chronically overheating after about 10 minutes

I have filled it, drained it, filled it, lifted the front, revved it but it just keep steaming after a short while:confused:

Could it be that I need a different snow deflector for my extended and tipped up rails than for the stock straight rails ???

Please help I really want to love the thing but it is getting hard:(

What kind of snow conditions are you running in? Are you sure you are overheating or is the light just comming on? Are you circulating coolant? To check this are your heat exchangers warm or hot to the touch when the overheat light is on?

The snow is about 4-5 inches loose over hard base.

My exchangers are getting hot and yes I am sure it actually is overheating because shortly after the light goes on steam comes out :(

Sounds like it circulating but maybe not enough, could be a t-stat stuck partially open? or the waterpump is on its way out. The fins on the water pump are plastic ( not very likely ).

Thank you guys,

After checking everything from the water pump to the free flow through the exchangers it was found to be a stuck thermostat.

Im just back from a proper test run and no more red light so case closed:)
