Looking into maybe putting an overhead dvd player in my F-350 CC. Any one have comments on which type I should look into? I want at least a 9" screen. What type of money am I looking for cost?? New to this so any legitimate help would be appreciated.

Varies quite a bit. http://www.nextag.com/overhead-car-dvd-player/search-html My old work truck, 04 F-150 had plans for 3 screens in it. 2 on the back of each headrest and 1 in the ceiling. Not sure if you looked at adding the overhead rails system like the 04 and newer F-150 does but even though it looks clean the manufacturers DVD player is expensive and small. (about $1400) If you plan on installing it yourself make sure you dynamat the roof and other sheet metal along the cables route down the headliner and then tape or dynamat the cable to the first layer of dynamat. I had to take the truck in once because the cable had come loose and was rattling along the headliner driving me nuts when I drove it for hours cross country. If I remember right they ran it toward the center pillar on the drivers side and along the trim of the drivers side door, to the center console and forward to the radio. I certainly wouldn't want to have to do it on an F-150 with the center console. Price that they paid for them, they were free (show truck). The bigger screen definatly looked better. And we soon realized the smaller screens were not near as bright and appeared poor in comparison. I believe they were 7inch screens. We had on a cheverolet 2 DVD screens mounted in the headrests and hooked up to a single player. The screens looked good at first but appears that many highway miles took their toll on them and they did not appear very bright after about a year and a half. Hope this helps.

I have had the best luck with Audiovox 8.5" LCD with built in dvd into console. I have 2 right know install in wifes and my ride that have been in for about a year and no problems. Make sure its an LCD with the older style they were blury from an angle. Check around any audio shops they average around $600.00 installed with 2 pair wireless headphones.

Pioneer all the way

i have an F - 250 crew cab, with the 9 inch pioneer dvd player mounted on my ceiling and love it. no problems yet with it for the 2 years of haveing it. you pay a bit more for pioneer but the quality is worth it i think. if you are ever around Bountiful, Utah stop in to Sun Tints and talk to kevin he will hook you up with a sweet one. and he is a fellow hill climber. good luck man.
