ORTOVOX avy beckons problem

I have multiple M2 avalanche transceiver in the glacier white (grey) with a red volume control switch. The model name and ORTOVOX are written on the front of the transceivers. On a couple of them the battery contacts have broken off so that they do not work any more. They have never been abused just the standard riding practices. Luckily I have not had to rely on any of them. But I am losing faith in the remaining ones that do work. Because my life might or someone Else's life might depend on them at some point. I seen there is a recall on them but it does not include the problem I have stated. Has any one else experienced this problem. what have you done to remedy this problem. or have they helped you out with this problem.

Ortovox is great to deal with. I haven't had any problems with my Ortovox beacons, but a customer did. We sent it in and they simply sent a new one back. Give them a call. Let them take care of it for you. www.ortovox.com

mine was 3 years old when i found it didnt test out as well as it should have. Took it to ortovox canada. They sent it to germany (i think) had it updated and fixed , returned it.... all at NO CHARGE. That is why our group now has 7 orto s1's

problem

it is very obvious problem. i thought it was dead batteries. pulled them out and one of the contacts to the batteries fell out. and you can see there is only 3 contacts still attached.

On side note. Back in 2005 there was a voluntary recall on the m2 battery door. In case you never heard about it, if you jolted the beacon hard enough it would shut off. Just thought i'd refresh everybody that didn't hear about it.
