have there been any significant avys/slides in our state over the past few seasons? i saw a small one on sand mountain at hoodoo a couple years ago and heard of some on rollercoaster at paulina. just wondering.

You must have been out of state all last year. Or not driven the passes. 
I will see if I can get a photo copy of the semi that was fully buried on Santiam pass.
I saw more back country slides then ever. And with the snow conditions as they are now, IF it starts snowing again, it's going to get scary.

i meant riding areas, not highways.
I knew that Ace, I'm sorry I was being a bit of a wise a$$. But what you saw on the news, and in the passes was a real indicator of what was going on in the back country. I can tell you there were many places we normally rode last year that we flat RESPECTED.

More people have been killed in Avy's this year than normal. And I thought last year was bad. We are looking at local conditions that if we get a heavy snowfall again this year are downright scary.
The group I ride with is already discussing this, and how it will affect how/where we ride.

i agree. we don't sit at the bottom of the hill while others are highmarking. and are very carefull when riding down in ravines.
