Orange M8 spring in M7 secondary

Is there an issue with the orange spring being longer then the stock white? I’m assuming not since it appears to be a common conversion, just wanted to be sure. Tore my secondary apart last night to install the D&D shift assist and orange spring. Had one head break off the hex screws and couldn’t find my vise grips so buying a new pair today. Noticed a pretty good difference in spring lengths so thought I’d ask before putting things back together. Maybe this question has already been answered but didn’t find anything in a quick forum search. Thanks for all your help.

Yes it is longer by like an inch or somthing. Thus the reason it has a higher spring force. It will go to gether just fine. I would make sure to clamp the clutch to gether and then tighten the screws, don't use the screws to pull it together.

Did you heat the screws with a torch before you removed them to break the loctite loose? Just wondering if this is why you broke a screw.

I did heat the screws. The other 8 came out just fine. It was weird broke after I had loosened it quite a bit. Felt like the loctite was pretty well broke up and coming out smoothly then snap. Head snapped off right at the threads. Should be pretty easy getting the rest out with vise-grips, a lot of stem to get a hold of. I have all new screws, planned on pitching the old ones so no big deal. I saw were a few people are boring out the holes and using allen heads, maybe I’ll have to do that down the road. Already had the new factory screws when I read that upgrade.

Thanks for the posts.
