OR no longer honoring WA sno-park permits. Reply to Thread

Thanks for the heads up, I was planning on a trip down there this year (Halfway) I guess it's all good but wondering why they would honor Cali. and Idaho and not ours? Do we not honor Oregons pass hear in Wa.?If not I could see their reasoning, if we do then whats their motivation? :boink:

FoxyRMK says....

I got this information from the WSSA website

http://www.wssa.us/

OREGON ENDS SNO-PARK PERMIT RECIPROCITY (Oct '10) - Effective November 1st, 2010, Washington Sno-Park Permits will no longer be valid in Oregon sno-parks. Oregon has taken this action based on Washington State Parks move to end reciprocity as well. (Washington State Parks is taking this action as a way of improving funding for winter motorized and non-motorized programs. The rule change will likely become effective by the end of the year.)
Washington snowmobilers will now need to purchase an Oregon Sno-Park Permit when using Oregon sno-parks. Annual permit price is $25 with 3-day and 1-day passes at $9 and $4 respectively. (Additional agent fee may apply.) Click here for Oregon Sno-Park Permit information.
There is no change regarding registration reciprocity. Your Washington registration is still valid in Oregon (and vice versa).

Yeah, I was none too happy when I had to pay Idaho tabs & grooming for 2 days of riding. It came out to about $70. I guess Oregon & Idaho want to deter us from visiting there. *edit - even tho Oregon claims their decision was based on WA's decision. Still, DUMB.

Wow, Not only do I have to pay Oregon taxes with no say in how they are used. But now I have to pay to ride at Halfway and Bend. But I guess if Oregonions have to pay for Washington snow permits then we will come out ahead.

Just try riding Oregon,Idaho and then Wyoming in the same season. Talk about a lot of stickers to clean off.

Nice! I'm gonna be down there in at the end of the month wasn't looking forward to buying a second snopark permit.
