You'll get a ton of OPINIONS....but here's real world experience:
Took THING in backpack in early 02 on 03 AC 900, pulled hill, swapped cans, pulled hill....RPM came up 200 to 300. Opened airbox....more RPM....added heavier clutch weights. Ran THINGs on 3 900's that year.
Took THING in backpack in early 03 on 04 Rev 800, pulled hill, swapped cans, pulled hill...RPM came up 200 to 300. Rode the day out....added pin weight that night...rode it all year.
THING did NOT show noticable improvement on 05 RT1000. Ran it anyways.
Took THING in backpack in early 06 on 07 Rev 800r, pulled hill, swapped cans, pulled hill...RPM came up 200 to 300. Rode the day out....added pin weight that night...rode it all year. Ended up doing lots of clutchwork and added a head to this sled as was typical to most 07s. Put bigbore in 07 800r...still ran THING....no data on stock can.
Early 08....Al will let me try a THING on the new XP.....if it works as MOST of the cans have.....it will add RPM at elevation.....and I will purchase one.
People think I am a bit biased since I know Al and Pete at the Sled Shed quite well....but they also know that I will side by side test their stuff and will hold them to it if something doesn't work.
