Opinions on Idea

I have been snowmobiling a couple dozen times. Owned a short track when I moved up to Montana. Actually, inherited it from previous home owner. Stayed on plowed trails and a bit of powder no problem. Never got off in the deep stuff.

Can I get some opinions on an idea. I sell ranches in Montana for a living and have taken people back in to see property on horseback with great success.

I'm trying to figure out whether it is a viable option to take people in on snowmobile. So here would be the parameters. I would have to assume they don't know what they are doing. I would be purchasing one or two long track sleds. First condition would be if the roads were somewhat plowed. I feel ok there although it could still be problematic. Second would be if the roads aren't plowed. The more I think about it the more I think this is a recipe for disaster. Liability, getting them stuck and a bad experience, cold, storms.

Anyone want to tell me I would go this far but beyond that you are an idiot? Just need to work my way through the thought and I don't know enough so thought I would throw it out there and test my intelligence level.

TIA

Terrible idea, just my opinion. Buy a tractor and a blower. Peepole spending millions buying ranches don't want to go on sled ride from heck. Well probably not all of them.

However you should buy one for you so you can go check on the properties without doing the work of plowing

Did a couple of snowmobiling tours for a company I worked for. Novice/beginner riders. Not a good idea! Get a sidexside.

I would have to ask myself, how often does this situation come up? Is it worth the investment? What about winter gear? As others have said, an enclosed side by side with tracks. Pretty spendy though. You could also rent sleds.

we helped out on a wedding in the mountains in the winter many years ago, thus everyone was on snowmobiles... oh man it was a challenge as people who had never ridden before were getting stuck on flat ground... I think the experience of seeing the property would usually be a poor one by your customers...

Polaris ranger Crew with the better cab and heater on tracks would be awesome for what you want to do. I was ice fishing with my brother couple weeks ago -10 degrees and very comfortable in there.

Thanks guys for the answers. Pretty much what I was thinking. Going to have to sell a few more before I can do the side by side but I think that would be the way to go if I did it. Again, how often would it happen. Thanks much for the answers.
