Opinions on Helmet cam - VholdR ??

Hi,

I have a Oregon Scientific ATC2K helmetcam today,
its okey, but it does not work out well under flat-light conditions.

I have looked at the VholdR, and the Contour HD cam.

Any opinions on wich one to buy?

How does the VholdR work? How is the battery life? Video quality?

I understand that of course the HD cam is a much better choice,
but is it worth the extra cash? Or will the regular VholdR work for me?

Its only for filming me and my buddies in the pow, not for making "Slednecks" or anything like that.

Thanks.

If your not looking for SLDX quality footage the Standard works GREAT! Filmed with it all last season and worked flawlessly. Go on youtube and search Sled Solutions videos and you can see tons of sample videos I posted. It certainly does better with good light vs. low light days but still good stuff. Battery is good for 1 hour of footage in the cold which is okay since it matches the 1 GB card it comes with. 1GB = 1 Hour Record time. You can upgrade to a 2 GB card and carry a spare battery which is what I did. You have 2 hours of record time and trust me after doing all season you don't want to have to edit more then that. It's time consuming and can be borrowing sifting through the lame stuff from your day. With that said I have 1 left brand new in the box that I'll sell you for $150 WITH a spare battery.

The camera is very good quality and you won't be disappointed in one....I wasn't.

Theres a VHoldR Cam sitting next to me on the couch right now.

It's my buddys I'm borrowing. We used it riding dirt bikes last weekend and its seemed to have pretty good image quality. Have not tried snow but theres sample vids online.

The quality of the camera seems to be pretty good too. Has little laser sights to get your level. The little on/off button sometimes doesnt work and you have to pop the back cover off where that battery is and push the tiny button behind the cover. No biggie.

For the price $120.00 + free shipping from amazon..... Can't beat that.

I'll be oerdering myself one before winter. www.vholdr.com

I would hold off on buying the HD Camera right now until they get it worked out. It is great for summer fun with no white snow but for those bright sunny days it is all a wash out. Check out my videos i posted about this.

Complete white out over exposure. About Noon.

Now you can see the real conditions with some shadows. About 5 PM same day. Sun lower in the sky not as bright.
