Opinions for a scope

Bought an AR-15 and I'm looking for opinions on which scope to buy. I have been leaning towards an E O Tech, but I'm not ruling anything out. It's just a toy to me, I'm not a Navy Seal or anything. Something functional that does not break the bank is what I'm looking for.

I like mixed-signal scopes myself...

lol... seriously... nikon makes some good optics... or you could just go open-sight...

I'm in the same boat. Find a good dealer. He should be able to mount a few different types, assuming you have the picatinny rails. I think I'm going to go with an aimpoint with a magnifyer. Just a toy for me too, but it's a blast to shoot.

Sightron is making some pretty decent scopes and they have probably the best warranty going. Send a scope back they send you a new scope and it doesn't matter if you're the orig. owner or not.

I have an eotech on my m4. it is a great cqb scope. But plinking at 200 yards it is not the best. Figure out if this is a self defense gun or a gun to plink with. Once you figure that out you will know which style scope to go with.

That's my problem, I want it to be both. LOL. I'm thinking the E O Tech with the 4x magnifier will be the ticket. I have a shotgun and a pistol that are my main self defense guns. If we are talking end of the world type stuff Momma would have the shotgun and I'd have the AR.

I like ACOG stuff myself but EOtech's are fun. What a great system would be is an Aimpoint with a 3 or 4x magnifier removable behind it. But your talkin an easy $700 system between the aimpoint and the magnifier :o

Ryan, if I buy 10 EO techs I should be able to sell you one for $280 and thats your basic model but takes the exspensive batteries. Still dickering with my dealer  Pretty sure thats the best I can do

I am in the same boat as you. I do have a 4x scope that i am going to put on quick release mounts, but i never get the mounts to have the same point of impact. So i have to resight in. Not much, but i do have to do it. That is how i am getting around not buying another gun. lol

Been looking around a little and found a 3x and 5x magnifier made by mako. 3x is $99 5x is $119. Anyone have any experience with these? Found them on cheaper than dirt, did a search for magnifier. They get decent reviews. Price is right.
