Online Investing

OK, I'm looking at starting to do a little online investing to see if I can do anything with the current market fluctuations and all the ups and downs that are prevalent. Not much just a little dabbling till I learn. I'm not trying to get rich off this but would like to learn and maybe make some extra cash to stick away for the future. I've got a few questions for those of you that are currently doing some trading and would like some advice.

1. Who's trading service are you using/which one is the best deal? Scottrade, E-Trade etc

2. Are there any good books that go over the basics, practices, and pitfalls of online trading that you would recommend? Not the get rich quick scheme books but just good foundational practices.

I am going to Order Jim Cramer's books on CD to listen to while I travel since I'm on the road so much and actually get a chance to catch his show now and then and he seems to be a fairly good source but a little scheme like too.

Jim is a litte crazy but another good book is William O neil (how to make money in stocks

I had seen it on the news and the people they talked to did very well, they kept their money spread out tho and took lower risks. They were still averaging over 10% return tho.
