One tough Poo

I was sidehilling across a slope on one ski and clipped a rock that sent me tumbling. My sled went for a ghost ride directly for a patch of quakes below. It hit a good sized one hard enough that the top part of the tree snapped off. I was sure there was major damage and maybe a totaled sled. Total damage - a slight bend in the front of the lower a-arm, the top part of the tree broke a couple of inches off the end of my windshield when it snapped off, and some scuffs and bark on my front bumper, side panel and shock reservoir. Thats it. Luckily I was wearing a tether so it slowed the sled down a little and had Teth-Air's brace on on the lower a-arm so it didn't bend in the weak spot. Either someone was watching out for me or I was just lucky. I think some of both.

tree climber

my 2001 Classic 700 tagged a tree branch sticking out of the side trail wall on a NY trail. sent me flying and the sled also. the sled even tapped me in the head as I slid down the trail then it went up a tree as the carbide stuck to it. it pushed the right trailing arm 5 inches back and ripped the side of the tunnel wear the foot well is. everything was hanging on by a small sliver of metal and it made it back a few miles to a town wear I could pick it up. Had to replace the trailing arm, modify the ripped tunnel side and new steering rod. Bought all used from a guy in WI. my GOPro just quit filming 2 mins earlier so I missed the wreck. nothing else on sled was damaged and I've ridden it a few year since with no issues.

Stuff breaks from time to time no doubt. My personal opinion is that a lot of it depends entirely on the angle at which you hit something and where the force of the impact goes. Anything can break given the right set of circumstances. We've all seen stuff survive crashes that you thought it never could and most of us have seen stuff break that you just thought for sure wasn't hit hard enough to do anything.

I think those lime green sleds look amazing! My nephew has one and it's purty!!!
