One sledder found, one confirmed dead.

How very sad this is. Brothers and to be found by there father.Made me tear up thinking about what everyone is going through. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved .

Sad story...one I am hearing too often lately.

I don't know the details other than they were riding in my old stomping ground so this may not be relevant to this story but it is relevan to every backcountry user. Avalanches are 100% avoidable. If you don't have any avy training...get some and use the knowledge you pick up from the class.

I will stress this to everyone again...you must ALL wear a pack with a probe and shovel in it and a working tranceiver on your body under your outerwear. DO NOT ride with anyone that doesn't...it's that simple.

My condolences to his family...

Horribly tragic. There is a harrowing blow by blow suffered by close friends in the Colorado forum. It's really painful and tragic but the lesson learned by the masses might do some good down the road. Heroic effort by many many people. Too bad our tight knit community has to suffer these losses but it is an extreme activity we participate in and most of us know the risks. I hope that everyone will do their best to educate and exercise as much caution as possible. This sucks!@
