One person on a hill at a time

This is a difficult time for many people right now. There have been several cases this year already with multiple snowmobilers being caught and killed in avalanches. I'm not trying to pour salt in anyone's wounds, but there are valuable lessons to be learned by all. Losing one person hurts, losing multiple people hurts even worse.

I am one who also likes to play on the hills but I don't ride on the hill when anyone else is on the same hill. If someone is stuck on the hill, let them dig themselves out. If they are big enough to get up there, they are big enough to get down.

Please be careful out there everyone and please play safe!

5 Big Rules in avalanche terrain.

1. Always go one at a time.

2. Never go above your partner. Get out of the way if you are below.

3. Have a plan.
-Who's first? Who's last?
-What slope?
-Where are you stopping?
-What's your escape route?
4. Say in voice or visual contact.
5. Alter your riding according to the avalanche danger.
