One More?

Anybody riding this weekend, I live in the Vail area but can travel. I have some friends that want to ski Independence Pass this weekend. Is there any good areas for snowmobiling over there?

plenty of riding areas at independence. watch out for avalanches as the area is known for them. i have ridden there a few times during the season but not after the pass is open so im not sure where you would park....

Vail Pass??

V/P Saturday am? I live in Dillon, gotta work at 3 PM but that leaves 4.5 hours for riding for me(before work) if we start at 9 am.Still getting a freeze almost nightly so snow won't be rotten and hollow until after noon.Still lots of snow, looked good going over V/P yesterday
Recovering from 5 broken bones in my lower leg :( in February),so nothing too aggressive for me but I'll watch you.
Anyone else???

Doo-er, I rode VP last Sunday and there is still a ton of snow up there. Just stay on the Ptarmigan side and you will find plenty of hills, cornices and drifts to play on. We will probably go out Saturday as well, but I'm not sure yet. You get bored a little quicker in these conditions, but if the sun is beating down...then the t-shirt riding is in full effect.

Plans changed I have to go to denver for a meeting. I hear ya on getting bored quick, this was my first season in the pow and I will never be the same! Just doesn't seem right riding on packed snow.

Rode up there today. First time I ever rode in June. It was actually really good. We built some booters and hit for a several hours. A few buds before we headed back and it was a perfect end to the season.

Indepedence Pass is still closed:
There was about 6 feet of snow where we had to stop, they had the loaders and snowblowers up there working on it. I can't imagine how much $$$ the state wastes trying to open the thing up and for what real reason I have no idea.......

2nd that............
