Once a year, shame on me

I maybe go with the family once a year to the cabin to play in the fields with the snowmobiles. Had so much fun playing with my kids and wife in the snow. I usually spend my winters with all my buddies riding. This year had to be different as my daughter was diag with leukemia in 2006 and was not doing very good last winter to go up to the cabin. Here's a few pics of our weekend together.

Spot on...

Great post. I have a hang-up about getting the kids out as well and it is downright wrong.

This is a great post and a great reminder. Thanks!

BroT

PS - you've got a great looking family!

I'm glad my kids like to go out with me. My daughter is my angel. And the best thing is she likes daddy to drive:eek: which is shocking by itself. Since my oldest says he dont trust me:rolleyes: and my middle dont like to carve turns with me :(
thanks BROT for the compliment.

Best ride of the year!!!

I had the girls and wife out this weekend for a quick ride. Best 14 miles of the year. I too need to Doo it more. Nice pics.

These are always some of the best posts.....and great reminders!

Thanks! Life's too short.....don't forget to share yours with your kids!

Prayers are with your daughter. Sometimes we all get wrapped up in what we consider the important stuff, only to realize later what truley was important. Kudos for you to figure it now, instaed of later. I know when I here someone tell me that they can't go, because they are spending time with their families, that I am talking to someone who "gets it." Cherish your time with your daughter, and be confident that she will kick the lukemia. I look at my girls constantly, and always wonder "what if" something happens. In my nightly discussion with the Big Guy, I will keep your daughter in my thoughts.

Nosno bless you and your fam. I too am guilty of leaving my kids home to much. I have three two daughters & a son 14 12 8 in that order. They like the quads a little more, not to crazy about the snow. I will PROMISE any dad on here you will never be sorry you spent time with your kids. Most of my buds have been telling me "wait until they are teenagers" well two of them are and we get along better now than we ever have!! I think it is because of my immaturity more than any "parenting" skills I have. Drink that time up because you'll never get it back. Enjoy those kids. God bless your angel we will keep her in our prayers.

My boy is scared to go with me too. He doesnt like to carve or go up on side. His little sister loves it, cant get her of the sled.

Very cool post. I keep telling my self that I need to take my 4 year old boy out but it hasnt happened yet. I am to afraid of going out with him alone and something will happen to my sled and we will end up walking out. If any of the Utah boys want to do a quick kids trip that would be fun.

Seeing those pics put a big smile on my face! :D Those are the precious faces of some very happy children! :)

thanks to all the replies. the whole weekend was spent just playing in the 2 little meadows that my wife's step-dads property is on. for the little room we had to play in it was some of the best time had. my boys get so excited to ride the snowmobiles and have fun with dad because most of the attn is pointed in the direction of my daughter. i have now taken the liberty of having them take part in karate and take them with me when i train. all the guys at the gym play and have fun with them. makes them feel like they are one of the big kids

Kids

Good to see threads like this. Sorry to hear about your daughter hope all goes well. I try to take my boys to the cabin one weekend , go sledding with buds the next. The older they get " 13 and 15 " the less they want to come. Time sure goes by fast ,a few more yrs. it will all be memories..:( Thanks for the thread...:beer; Bill

Way cool!

Great Pics! Thanks for sharing.

It's always a great time when you can spend it with your kids. I took my son out riding on Sunday. It's great to watch them learn how to ride. Just watching him lay that sled over and carve up a hill put a smile on my face. :D Now if I could just get my daughter into it.

Great thread! The Innocence of Youth, there's truly nothing better in this life!thanks for the jog in memory back in time. I can still hear my boys on the back of the old fold-a-sled while making a twenty mile ride to the cabin hollering mush the whole way as we would make a 3 day weekend of just the boys only thing,no mom allowed. great times we had and did as often as possible, shot alot of vid. with the old vhs recorder and now that they are in their late twenties it's fun to get together and watch the good old days.May the good lord be ever near to your angel:heart:

Great post---I'm now fast forwarded 25 years with 4 grand kids ages 5,7,9 an 15. We have to rent sleds for Mom, Dad and Grammy as I am out of the sled for everyone business but it is worth the $475 rental fees just to listen to them laugh and enjoy the highcountry. The stories will never be forgotten as they will gladly tell anyone about how Pop (me) got stuck in the creek and had to be "rescued" (again).
