on and off again check engine light with ecu code 17

Anybody help me with this? my sled has done this twice. both times i got thrown in the bars and accidentally killed the sled with the throttle still opened part way. Not even sure if its related just seems odd is all. Soon after that happens i notice the light on and ecu 17 flashing. I ride it, the ecu code 17 goes away but the wrench stays on. I ride it some more and both go away. I thought it was a pipe temp sensor going out but not sure why it would be the intermittant on and off and the ecu 17 not flashing all the time.

try unplugging it and making the prongs fit tighter into the opposite connector..
