Putting a koso single probe egt on a 07 m1000. somewhere I read 4 in. from piston skirt. no way to do that with single, can only put it at the y more like 6 in. will temp read lower or what. thanks for help

You will have to put it right at the Y and just find out where your temperature limit is by plug readings. I personally don't think it will read a whole lot different at 4" or 6" but you need to determine that. Run in a range of about 1200 degrees (5000rpms or so) for a 1/4-1/2 mile or so and stop and pull a plug. If the ceramic down inside the plug is brown you are ok at that temp, and if it is white you are unsafe. Nobody can tell you where you are safe. Every sled is different and you have to determine that yourself.
